Attempts 1 & 2 on pig skin…

Wanted to get some better colours & highlights into the Koi but the skin was stinking up a bit! Will have to speed up my work!
Also I only have round shaders with the aprentice kit I have at the moment so will defo need to invest in some flats & mags (any recommendations?)

Flower was done freehand as I had no copying facilities [aprox size of a £2 coin].
Koi is from on original design that I drew up [aprox A5 size].

Critique gently please, they are my 1st attempts afterall!! :D

Loox like your off to a decent start. Do you draw or paint? I’m curious about your style of artwork. Anyhow you can buy a book from this site that has in depth information on tattoo’ing that would help you.

Hi, thanks for the reply… Yeah I draw quite a bit & my style tends to be kinda realistic forms but with a cartoonist feel.

I’ll definately have a look for that book. I have a guy who is happy to let me spend some studio time with him when ever I get the chance around my normal work but could do with as much help & guidance as I can possible get a hold of!
