Got tired of fighting with practice skin, so last night i put this on a honeydew and it took the ink way better. No stencil, just rough outlined it in red pen prior to laying ink.
Thoughts? Comments? I’m new to the honeydew world any tips?

That looks awesome, especially when you factor in the freehanding

I don’t think I see anything obviously wrong with this, good job!

I decided to pick up a pencil last night instead of the machine, just to do a little drawing practice. Found a cool flash image in a book I have so decided to draw that in my notebook… Here is the result.

This may just be the image I use when I do my first tattoo on real skin… on my own calf.

I went to the Art Institute back in the 80s when designers still had to have some god-given talent, before computers took over the world …LOL… so Yes it is freehand.

Got my shipment of needles, tubes, etc. in yesterday, so I figured before I go bloodline on myself this weekend I would hit up another honeydew melon to get the feel of the new tubes (got the 1″ grips). Here is the result…

      Some black & grey practice…

This will be shaded and colored tonight, just outline right now…

Loved the grip on the new disposable tubes, and the “V” tip versus the round tip I had been using. Used a 7RL.

I do have a question… with the “V” tip I did notice the needle getting hung up a few times and bending back to the opposite side of the tube as I moved my line (I was going sideways not pulling backwards). Any suggestions on this? Am I moving too fast, not enough juice, what? EDIT – Damn I think I just realized that could be needle depth (going deeper than the retraction on the needle) cause I was practicing riding the tip not the tube.

      Comments on honeydew artwork?
