couldnt get my mags to stick ink wanted feather to look ribbed a little more by sweeping ffrom middle to outside. even tho me and client still liked it I had to switch to a RS and kinda filled in like that. any tips would be appreciated. uaing my rotary should i just speed it up for the bigger mag because of the increased surface area?

Do you have Basic Fundamentals of Modern Tattoo (Book)?
You should practice on pig skin and then tattoo yourself (ie: your legs).
Don’t tattoo clients until you can “get the mag to stick”.
You will end up chewing up / scaring someone!
      : )
      Best of luck

PS – sounds like it could be a number of things – coils, springs, needles, angle of attack, hand movement.
Try your best to get an apprenticeship – you need visual feedback from a mentor!

I agree … You must learn how to run your machine, depth, angel, and stretching before you attempt to use mags! I have seen a lot of guys trying to use 18 round sh adders and bigger and tearing the skin all to hell because the cannot use mags, and when the tattoo is healing it turns into i huge pruned up scab …Leaving scars and a risen tattoo.. Mags work great when you learn how to use them properly.
