Sorry, I know this has been asked before. What is the best fruit to practice on?
I usually use Honey Dew Melons, but the skin seems a little soft, and shading
doesn’t work well either. What’s the general consensus here? What do you guys
      prefer?

      i’ve used different ones.
bananas get chewed up similar to skin.
oranges have similar resistance to needle as skin.
i would try several different types of produce, each has it’s own characteristics.
when tattooing pigskin, the lining will often blowout a lot easier than human skin will, but shading takes pretty similar to human skin.

Try pigs ears your get a good bita meat on them! have to work with tricky folds and bends in the skin good practice!

**Dont use the skin after 2 days it will go rancid and you working close to it inhaling it wont be very good for you**
