      Hello.
I am new to the forum and new to learning about the art of tattoo.

My question: The capacitor and clip cord are wrapped in heatshield material. How do I know which end is positive and which negative. Neither the capacitor nor clip cord has any color coding nor + or – signs.

On the top of the capacitor there is a notch, it is Y shaped. Is this the arrow and means it is the negative end?

Thank you for any helpful information you can give

SOME CAPACITORS ARE POLARIZED OR NON POLARIZED. MEANING ELECTRICITY CAN FLOW IN ONE DIRECTION OR DOESNT MATTER
A POLARIZED CAPACITOR WILL HAVE AN ARROW POINTING TO DIRECTION OF CURRENT FLOW.
AS FOR CLIP CORD IS DOESNT MATTER WHICH WAY U PUT ON THE CLIP CORD
BUT IF U WANT TO KNOW NEGATIVE TO POSITIVE JUST USE A VOLTMETER AND USE THE TEST LEADS
GENERALLY THEY ARE RED OR BLACK.. AND IF THE READING IS NORMAL LETS SAY 5VOLTS THEN WHATEVER
LEAD THE RED IS ON IS POSITIVE FLOW.. IF U HAVE THE TEST LEADS ON BACKWARDS IT WILL SHOW NEGATIVE -5 VOLTS
SO YOUR OTHER CLIP CORD LEAD IS POSITIVE. HOPE THAT HELPS.
MOST OF THE TIME BUILDERS USE AN AXIAL CAPACITOR

No problem.. It comes in handy .. And if u do change ur capacitor make sure its parallel with the flow of the coils.
