I finally completed my first tattoo that wasn’t JUST an outline. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, though I think investing in some higher quality color would be beneficial…the colors I used seemed a little dull for my taste. I tried to add a bit more “depth” with shading and highlights…
I used a 7 double stacked mag, and 4 colors. Here’s the before AND after photos…(the before was in an older thread, but I figured I’d just make a new one)

      Before (just outline):

thats a good first go at it. i’m sure you can see the problems so i won’t harp on that.
what would you do differently next time?

I realized that I really need to take some time to sort out grey scale…and how much water to add each go to keep the scale consistent. That’s tough…my black areas are a little too black for what I wanted. Use better ink (brighter, higher quality). All in all though, I’m decently happy with the way it turned out…technique will always get better with time, but as a first go, I’m fairly satisfied.
