Hey, I’m Andy and I’m new here but I was just wondering if you could all give some constructive criticism on some of my flash work. I’m building up my portfolio and working on possibly getting an apprenticship soon but some people have been telling me that my art is very flash like and I should just sell it to shops. But I’m not quitting and letting someone else put my art on someones body. So here are a few of them. Be hard on me. Really. Anything you guys have to say helps. I’m working my ass off for this but everyone has been too nice to me when I ask what I can improve on. What do you guys think?
(keep in mind, I took these pictures with my phone. Some color has been washed out as well as details and the angles as well contribute to some warping.)

yeah i love them. i think they’re cool. ive just started trying to do pen and water colour paintings myself to do some flash. if im being really harsh i would say i think the blindfolded punk rock girl could do with a bit more of a forehead but i love your line on her face and neck and how you emphasize areas with your tone. your a better water colour painter than me. maybe you could try make some of your designs more complex? by inter weaving things more or adding more colours or extra elements. anyway i had fun looking at them thanks for showing

Try bolding your line work on some. And try adding some more shading to show separation of parts of a drawings your trying to show depth with. I think your on the right track though with your art, looking good man.

      Evan,

I also started with just black ink. I learned how to draw with ball point pen only, no pencil. I always thought it was cheating if I sketched then ink…..yeah wrong idea but I was just a kid. One day a shop owner told me to stop drawing in pen so much and try color.

So I ventured off into sketching and color pencil and so forth. Anyhow welcome to the site
