      hmmm…that wash around the letters is a bit dark. I think you got the right idea, but you may need to dilute your washes even further to get them softer. What needle group were you using to do this? Looks like it may have been a mag due to seeing some hatching marks? Nice job with the letters and for starting out you got the right idea.

      Thanks for the reply I didn’t use any gray wash, whip shaded it and I agree it should have been diluted for a softer effect though it did heal lighter on the shading

      A bit dark and you have rake marks. Try crosshatching when you’re shading and that should help get rid of them.
