Do you have Basic Fundamentals of Modern Tattoo?
Example of shading in the book –
and some video tutorials cover shading techniques…
Ask your mentor in the shop you are learning to tattoo at…

I personally wouldn’t have done line work for the bear. I would of done hair like folicals. To simulate hair. Then just do lots of stroke shading and feather shading to add to the effect of the hair.

And yes get Jordans book. It will help you out on some basic fundamentals (no pun intended).
