Tribal arm sleeve

Hey guys. How would you go about doing a tribal arm sleeve? It have to go arround the shoulder and down the arm to his wrist. He has a few beauty marks and a small flower tattoo i have to avoid. Would you make a stencil and apply it or draw it on freehandet?

I would draw it on freehanded with a sharpie, it would go with the natural curves of the body better that way. I feel like that’s what tribal is all about

Thanks :) Yes i tried sketching some ideas but it dosn’t work as if it was to be applied like a stencil.
