not a bad start, I love traditional too.
apart from what has already been mentioned, the part that is really bugging me is the clouds. for the most part you got some good smooth outs, but seem to have gotten a little blotchy on the clouds.
      what happened there?

I am at southern California and my mentor told me that If I was going to charge by the hour it would be $100hr we did have artist that were on the $150hr mark, both at the same shop.
by the way tattoo looks good.

I just checked it out and I have to be honest on a couple of things, but first I think that this question may answer most of it. How long have you been tattooing for now?

here is what I see. it looks like you battle shading and color fade out. both are very similar. when trying to blend a color with another or just trying to get the gradation from solid saturated color (may it be black or any other pigment) should fade out into skin or the next color you are trying to blend.

I am not a big fan of the design its self but that part should not matter. art may be interpreted differently bu different people, but technique is what seems to lack here.

I am not taking a jab at you here, hope you understand that. its the only way to get better.

may want to look into slowing your machine down a bit. this will help (in my own opinion of course) smooth out your shading.

I cant really give you much on advice on technique till I know what technique you were using on this piece. for example did you use the circle technique or the passing back and forth?

how fast was your machine running?

are you using short tapered or long tapered needles?
