The prime component, as far as movement is concerned, in the
tattoo machine is the armature bar. The armature bar has two
functions. The first function is to attach the needle to the machine.
The armature bar’s second mission is to act as a polar
opposing force to the machine’s magnetized coils; this also
means that the armature bar assists the front spring with opening
and closing the circuit.
