There are two standard types of needle bar grommets. The first
grommet style is the full circle. The full circle needle bar grommet
will fit completely inside the looped portion of the needle
bar, and is discarded after the tattoo along with the needle.
The second type of grommet is the ½ grommet or nipple style.
The nipple style will attach to the armature bar and increase
the width of the armature bar nipple, allowing the needle bar’s
looped end to slide onto the armature bar and maintain a grip on
it during the duration of the tattoo. The nipple style grommet can
be re-used, as it should not come in contact with the client and it
is covered by barrier protection from bodily fluid splatter.
