Often times there will be a deck clamp fastened on top of the
rear spring above the rear of the frame. This deck clamp can be
effective when it is compared to a
circular washer because it will allow
the balance of the energy to
be evenly distributed across the
width of the entire spring instead
of the portion where the peak of
the circular washer resides. An
old school trick that many artists
have adopted was to take a coin
of some sort, and cut it in half.
The coin was then tapped with a
hole in it, and utilized as a deck
clamp. Now there are a lot of manufactures that distribute deck
clamps in a variety of materials.
Can a Coin give your rear spring Energy?
