A really good practice to use when outlining is to use diamond
tips. Tips are the lower (touches the client’s skin) portion of the
tube, tip grip assembly. Tips come in round, diamond, or shovel
typically. The reason that diamond is preferred is because the
needle will move around inside the tube while it is dragged
against the skin. The diamond
tip will provide a guide for the
needle group to sit in. If the
needle is pulled against the
skin it should find the grove
of the tip and you will see the
amount of shaky or jaggy lines
decrease in your line work.
